The Redline Energy Drink Class Action Lawsuit case is Adam Mirabella v. The FDA is investigating the deaths and has been pressured to consider placing caffeine limits on energy drinks after emergency room visits involving these products jumped 10-fold from 2005 through 2009. The girl allegedly drank two Monster energy drinks before suffering “cardiac arrhythmia due to caffeine toxicity,” according to the lawsuit. The family of one of these victims, a 14-year-old girl who died of a caffeine overdose, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Monster over their daughter’s death. The FDA revealed last week that Monster Energy Drinks have been cited in at least five deaths over the last year. The Redline class action lawsuit comes at a time when energy drinks are under increased scrutiny from media and government officials. According to the Redline class action lawsuit, the product’s nutrition label lists these ingredients in type that is hard to read and is smaller than the lettering required by the Food and Drug Administration.
